What We Do

GreenGirls.net is branching out. Being rooted in nature, we want to embrace and empower the multi-dimensional aspects of women who care passionately about the environment. Toward this end, we encourage women to act on their instincts and desires to:

GreenGirls.net participants schedule fun and interesting activities and outings that keep us all feeling healthy, strong, balanced, and connected with nature and each other. We are drawn to activities that challenge us and teach us new things. We find ways to help correct nature-deficit disorder so we do fun things out in nature. We also enjoy taking action together to bring about positive change.

Each one of us is encouraged to be a leader at any time. Leadership in our group is sort of like the leaves on a tree. A tree with a single leaf provides little enjoyment and cannot sustain itself. On the other hand, a tree with a strong trunk and branches with many leaves is healthy, gorgeous, and self-sustaining. GreenGirls.net exists to help develop a network of women with the desire, knowledge and ability to create and enjoy a more healthy, sustainable community and economy.

If we want to make something happen, then we need to make it easy for others to participate and assist. This includes doing a little research to post details to GreenGirls.net, preferably with sufficient lead time so that people can make plans to attend. The best plans always consider carpooling options and/or bus routes. By the way, your activity may not require a lot of planning. The simpler, the better. We don't want any GreenGirl to experience burnout.
